If you have been Seeking Senkel News, you haven't found any since July. I have nothing but respect for all you moms who regularly update your blogs. I just have not made myself stick to it. But here is a quick update on the Senkel Family since July.
Lexi began 2nd grade. She likes her school and friends, but feels that there is a lot more work than 1st grade. I hate to tell her that that is how this school thing works. She is swimming again and enjoying it. She is also very excited about being in her first play in December. It is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She wanted a small part, which I thought was wise since this is her first time on stage. She can memorize lines very quickly. She is also enjoying children's choir at church and will be in a fall performance and she will have a special role in the church's big christmas production as a caroler. She is also enjoying AWANA. Most importantly, Lexi was baptized in September. She accepted Christ when she was much younger, but this summer she told us that she wanted to be baptized. It was a special day.
Belle entered Kindergarten and is really enjoying it. She is also playing soccer for the first time this year. She is pretty good considering this is her first time out, but we're not sure if she likes it enough to play another season. She really wants to get back to gymnastics. She is also doing choir and AWANA. She is doing a very good job learning her verses.
Elijah is in a mother's day out program at our church two days a week. His teachers tell me how smart he is and how he keeps them laughing. He is talking so much and has the best manners. He is always saying, "Thank you mommy," and I love hearing it each time he mutters it.
Bill's job is going well. He is staying really busy, but is enjoying the challenge. He is enjoying football season. He will be going to California for a USC game (and to visit friends) and later down to College Station for a Texas A&M game.
I have just been busy trying to keep every one in clean clothes and to their activities. When school started I was going to the gym at least 4 times a week. In September, I enjoyed my bi-annual scrapbook retreat, and got out of my gym routine. Then we had family in for Lexi's baptism and I let that keep me out of the routine. We also began searching for a place to call home (we have just been leasing since we got back from GA). We found a house we liked and were in the contract phase, when we discovered it had a history of foundation issues. We just didn't want that over our heads so we walked away from that deal. So that was a stress filled situation. Now we are looking at moving to a different community and building a home. We both just want this housing issue to be put to bed.
God is great and life is good.

thrilled to see read about what you guys have been up to. as tough as updating the blog is, it's sometimes even tougher to return to it after it's been a while. so, at least you didn't abandon it altogether!
